Your Personal Invitation

Andy For many years I avoided Church like the plague! It was boring, totally irrelevant, and I didn't want to be associated with those religious 'lunatics'. Now here I am, a young enthusiastic Baptist Minister on a mission! So what changed? The answer, lots of things, but one of the many changes was that I came to see that, when you strip away all the religiosity, you find something real and utterly amazing. With the help of faith and a good local church I've seen the lonely and isolated find comfort and companionship, the sick and elderly find care and a community that values them.

Stokegifford I once saw how a local church managed to eradicate homelessness in their area - even though the local council tried and failed. Perhaps, more importantly, I've seen lots of normal everyday people receive encouragement and support, so that they can enjoy life and being who God made them to be.

I came to see that a good local church really can change things for the better. Now.. I still think some religious people are lunatics, and that some churches are still boring, but a change has begun and people are gradually coming back to church and finding that it really does give them purpose, meaning and support in life. Perhaps you are sceptical like I was, I don't blame you. But I would personally invite you to come along, to have a chat, maybe even attend a Sunday morning meeting - who knows, it could be exactly what you are looking for!

You may be able to think of many reasons who you wouldn't go to church - but have you ever considered why you should go?

If you would like to come to church but are nervous or not sure what to expect, please feel free to call me personally on 07775 941184 and I will be delighted to answer any questions you may have.

Take Care
